The MHAI Stanley W. DeKemper Training Institute’s Recovery Support Fundamentals: A Foundational Skills Based Approach is an immersive and interactive exploration of what it means to provide person-centered, ethical and professional recovery support in addictive, mental health and crisis related situations. Skills such as motivational interviewing, supporting multiple pathways of recovery/wellness, providing culturally responsive services and other skills will be explored and discussed.
It is a five-day, 35-hour interactive knowledge and skill development training. Participants will be expected to ATTEND ALL 5 DAYS of this training.
There are pre-requisites to obtain the Certified Addiction Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC) or Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) credential that this educational training isa requriement of, that includes a high school diploma or equivalent state certificate. Note: the CAPRC credential is for persons in PERSONAL recovery from substance use, mental illness or co-occurring disorders.
The CARC is for persons NOT in personal recovery (family members, loved ones, allies etc.)

The MHAI SWD Training Institute offers individual scholarships for partial, or full, cost of the training, on a individual basis and what current sholarship funding availability allows. Scholarships may also be found with other organizations who are not affiliated with MHAI SWD Training Institute.
