Qualifications of Instructors:
Our instructors hold national industry certifications such as the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Certification, Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) Certification, and/or the Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) Certification. All instructors have beenemployed as either Directors of Training, Directors of Maitenance, and/or Customer Service professionals amongst our membership for a minumum of 4 years most have 15+ years experience in the field they are teaching.
Program Description:
The Indiana Apartment Association (IAA) Career Pathways: Service Technician Program is an instructional internship program with the objective to prospect, train and place new talent into the multifamily industry as a Service (Maintenance) Technician with one of IAAs property management members across the state. The program combines classroom education with a 30-day, onsite, internship prior to our members extending an offer of employment. To date, our program has a 95% job placement rate for those who completed the program. The program also promotes contuing industry education by requiring the companies who hire our candidates to enroll the candidate(s) into the Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) program- a national industry certification; and the EPA/CFC Certification to bolster their long-term career growth within the multifamily industry as a maintenance professional.

46.0401 Building/Property Maintenance A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to keep a building functioning, and to service a variety of structures including commercial and industrial buildings and mobile homes. Includes instruction in the basic maintenance and repair skills required to service building systems, such as air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, major appliances, and other mechanical systems.

Prerequisites Description:
We do require the following to be considered for the program: Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Valid social security number. Must be able to pass a criminal background screening. Valid Drivers License and access to reliable transportation. Must attend the entirety of the 5-day training and complete the 30-day internship program.
