Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Hoosier Healthcare Training Program offers 45 classroom hours, including instructor demonstrations of the 72 Resident care procedures (RCPs) and a review of the 30 lessons based on the ISDH student manual. Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) requires a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 75 hours of clinical training for the Nurse Aide Training Program. Also, our experienced instructor will provide the student with worksheets, clinical skill activities, and tests. After completing the classroom session, the student must complete the 75 hours o practicum at an ISDH-approved clinical site. Sixteen hours of remediation are offered to our students to address and help those struggling with classroom materials and performing resident care procedures. Also, the student will attend 8 hours of mandatory review in preparation for the state test to be a Certified Nurse Aide.
Nurse Aide Training applicant must be able to read and write English, and able to understand basic math addition and subtraction,should be at least 16 years old. Need to pass a statewide background check, TB test, and Physical examination. An applicant must be able to perform physical duties under Certified Nurse Aide environmental demands.
