Visionary Health Group(VHG)/Institution instructors are all industry experts with numerous years of experience in Medical Billing and Coding. All VHG employees hold the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential and the Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certification through the AAPC. Some employees hold several other credentials as well. All instructors are approved as instructors throught the AAPC.
The Certified Medical Billing & Coding Specialist course will equip students with skills that are essential to hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers, nursing homes, dental offices, home healthcare agencies, mental health facilities and even insurance companies and consulting firms. The course will cover such topics as how to gather/review essential patient information, verify required documentation before patient information is released, how to prevent fraud/abuse by auditing billing, how to support coding and billing processes, how to assign codes for diagnoses and procedures, the process for submitting claims for reimbursement and how to coach healthcare providers to achieve optimal reimbursement. In August 2021, an enhanced curriculum is being introduced due to a new certification test being released by NHA. With this enhanced currriculum there will be more of a focus on coding and the utilization of coding books will be added, the classroom hours will increase from 36 to 48 teaching/lab hours, and the previous exam manual will be more comprehensive and longer in length. Also, a student will be able to sit for the CBCS credential, but also the CPB (Certified Professional Biller) certification, as the curriculum covers both credentials. CBCS credential is included with the program cost. The CPB credential would be paid by the student if they desire the second credential.
