A.S. degree in healthcare or related field, LPN, or Certificate in related field.
Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA) work within medical practices and healthcare facilites to provide medical office administrative services and perform patient intake and care that includes routine diagnostics and recording procedures, perform pre-examination and examination assistance, and the administration of medications and first aid. This course includes clinical simulations and an externship with a local heathcare practice. A Certificate in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) is included.
The CCMA exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions which must be completed in a set amount of time. Test-takers must answer 70% of the questions correctly to become CCMA certified. Once an individual receives the certification, they must complete continuing education credits to maintain it.
