Program Description:
Our courses at the Parnell Commercial Driving School d/b/a Mister P Express contain a mixture of classroom work and behind-the-wheel training to ensure that student leaving our training facility will have the skills, knowledge, and experience that will allow them to obtain their Class A CDL licensure. With the implementation of our late model equipment, trucking simulation technology and experienced training staff we are proud to serve the communities of Southern Indiana in helping provide safer drivers out on the road. We offer a hands-on approach that allows us to develop a long-term relationship with our students and teach them the fundamental skills they need to be professional truck drivers.

Classification of Instructional Programs:
49.0205 Truck and Bus Driver/Commercial Vehicle Operator and Instructor A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to drive trucks and buses, delivery vehicles, for-hire vehicles and other commercial vehicles, or to instruct commerical vehicle operators. Includes instruction in operating gas, diesel, or electrically-powered vehicles; loading and unloading cargo or passengers; reporting delays or accidents on the road; verifying load against shipping papers; arranging transportation for personnel; and keeping records of receipts and fares.

Prerequisites Description:
***Students must be able to pass a DOT physical, DOT drug screen and obtain their CDL-A permit (general knowledge, air brake and combo) before entering class***. Students 22+ years of age Candidates can be 18-21 years of age to get their CDL However for insurance purposes they cannot be employed until they are 21 because they can only drive intrastate (only in the state they live in). Anyone who wishes to attend our training program at 18-21 years of age will be required to provide funding on their own and employment is contingent on performance. Candidates must have and hold a valid Class D Operators License issued out of the state KY/IN for at least 1 full year. Ability to read, write and communicate in English No DUI/DWI within 3 years- No more than (2) total in lifetime No felonies or misdemeanors in the past 3-5 years No more than 2 preventable accidents in the past 3 years. Students with reckless driving Etc./ leaving the scene of an accident on MVR will have to be reviewed by safety team before being accepted.
