This programs offers a unique opportunity that not only prepares the student to perform administrative tasks within a medical office environment, but also gives them the tools and training necessary to become a Dental Assistant. The skilled medical office assistant needs to not only handle a range of administrative tasks, and deal with sensitive patient relations issues, but will also need to have the knowledge and skills to assist dentists/doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. our Dental Assistant and Office Administration program prepares individuals to provide patient care, take dental radiographs (x-ray photographs), prepare patients and equipment for dental procedures, and discharge office administrative functions under the supervision of dentists and dental hygienists. Includes instruction in medical record-keeping, general office duties, reception and patient intake, scheduling, equipment maintenance and sterilization, basic radiography, pre- and post-operative patient care and instruction, chairside assisting, taking tooth and mouth impressions, and supervised practice. The will also gain an understanding of Medical Office Procedures and Administration along with an introduction to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology.
