Qualifications of Instructors:
All members of the program faculty shall possess the following minimum credentials: A four (4) year degree from an approved institution in the major area they are assigned to teach; OR a two (2) year degree from an approved institution in the major area they are assigned to teach; OR practical experience of not less than two (2) years in the major area they are assigned to teach; AND knowledge of the educational literature in the field of the methods and techniques of handling industrial, commercial, and occupational/vocational training.
Program Description:
A program that prepares individuals to assist customers with inquiries and problems in frontline call centers, help desks, teleservice centers, and online. Includes instruction in user interfaces and user behavior, principles of hardware and software systems operation, customer interaction skills, telephone and e-mailing skills, data entry, and database and Internet searching and retrieval. This program is designed to prepare participants for employment with call center and customer service employers. Participants can earn up to four (4) industry recognized certifications upon successful completion of this training program.

Prerequisites Description:
Prerequisites: Admission is based on WorkOne or WorkIndiana eligibility requirements OR grant requirements, as specified. Must have completed or be in the process of completing a high school or secondary school diploma or similar education standards. Successful completion of a work readiness program (at least 20 hours) required. Proof of work readiness completion must be provided. Basic computer skills required. Co-Requisites: Violent, sexual, fraud, forgery, and identity theft convictions are not permitted. Other convictions must be at least five (5) to seven (7) years old and will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Applications must be submitted two (2) weeks minimum before the next scheduled class session. Program acceptance will be confirmed two (2) to five (5) days before the first day of class.

Successful completion of the Indianapolis Urban League (IUL) New Beginnings Program and co-enrollment in the IUL Training Works Program. Interested participants must be admitted into IUL Training Works Program and meet all requirements (ex.: TABE Test, Assessments, etc.) before being considered for training opportunities. The IUL Training Works Coordinator works closely with the Vice President of Programs and training instructor to select participants for training opportunities based on meeting program requirements, program suitability and eligibility.Other interested applicants not enrolled in the IUL Training Works Program are encouraged to visit their local unemployment office for information on available financial aid and/or scholarships, or call the IUL Workforce Development Department for a list of potential collaborative partners offering financial aid and/or scholarships for training opportunities.Referrals are accepted from community based organizations. Candidates must complete prerequisite requirements as described. Referring agency must provide applicable funding source and determine candidate eligibility and suitability.Credential examination costs are included in the tuition.
