All Indy Reads instructors hold a minimum of an associate's degree.
A program that prepares individuals to perform job responsibilities associated with customer service in various industries, including retail and sales. The curriculum includes, but is not limited to, transferable soft and hard skills, direct sales operations, team/staff leadership and supervision, floor and inventory management. The Retail Industry Fundamentals course combines High School Equivalency coursework and online soft skills development with live training and career consulting appointments in order to prepare students for job opportunities in retail and customer service roles.At the end of this course, students will have the knowledge necessary to prepare for and take the National Retail Federation (NRF) credential exam.
Participants must show at least an NRS 4 on all TABE subjects to be eligible for the certification course. Participants must be enrolled in an HSE program or have a high school diploma or high school equivalency.If the student does not have a high school diploma or equivalency, they will be required to complete an additional week in the HSE Fast Track course, providing another 12 hours of ABE instruction preparing them for the HiSET exam.
Applications will be accepted between July 1st and April 30th of each year.
