Program Description:
CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for establishing a career pathway in Information Technology (IT). It is an entry-level computer certification for computer service technicians. Earning A+ certification demonstrates that students possess the skills necessary to support enterprise IT infrastructures. Upon completing this course, students will gain the essential skills, technical expertise and foundational knowledge of todays most relevant technologies, so that they confidently conduct the tasks necessary to install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, optimize, repair and perform preventative maintenance on computer hardware and operating system. The CompTIA A+ Core Series requires candidates to pass two exams: Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102). In addition to preparing for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102) exams required for CompTIA A+ Certification, this training provides the skills to support users of personal computer hardware and operating systems. CompTIA A+ is a vendor-neutral certification which makes it the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. A+ demonstrates comprehension of hardware, software, operating systems, system troubleshooting, technology repair, networking, mobility, security and operational procedures. The programs duration is 12 weeks, 140 clock hours split into two parts; the first 6 weeks covers topics in Core 1 A+ exam ranging from Mobile Devices, Networking, Hardware, Virtualization and Cloud Computing, and Hardware and Network Troubleshooting. The 6th week is used for exam practice and taking the core 1 exam. The second 6 weeks covers topics in core 2 exam ranging Operating Systems, Security, Software Troubleshooting and Operational Procedures. Students prepare for and take the core two exam in the 12th week of the program
