All instructors must provide evidence of this criteria through a resume, official transcripts, and documentation of current certifications. Instructors will be hired and onboarded at least two weeks prior to the start of a class to ensure that they can be properly oriented and prepared to teach the program.
The CompTIA ITF+ : Introduction to IT Knowledge and Skills program introduces students to IT concepts and terminology, infrastructure, applications and software, software development, database fundamentals, and security best practice methods. The CompTIA ITF+: Introduction to IT Knowledge and Skills program consists of 178.50 clock hours of instruction over 17 weeks, taught through synchronous interactive distance learning. The focus of this program is to prepare students to take and pass the CompTIA ITF+ certification examination (CompTIA ITF+ FC0-U61). This single-course, postsecondary program teaches curriculum to students to prepare them to take the CompTIA ITF+ examination; students receive this certification from a third party through an examination process.
The CompTIA programs do not require any specific IT skills or knowledge to enroll in the program. The prerequisites to become a student are the following:
At least 18 years old
Eligible to work in the United States
Able to provide valid government-issued photo identification or driver’s license
Able to participate in an online interview
Able to take an aptitude test and achieve the minimum acceptable score
Able to speak, read/write and understand the English language
Able to use a computer to navigate in the Windows?environment
Have access to the internet and a reliable laptop or desktop computer with a current web browser
