Serv-Safeinstructor/proctor.Course Credential Standard: Credentials other than the program/discipline standard that may appropriately qualify one to teach a specific course. Examples might include a licensure, certification, specialty coursework, etc. specific to the single course.Professional Certification: A certificate by an external state, regional, national, or international agency that attests to significant breadth and depth of knowledge within a field of study.
The Indiana Code 410 IAC 7-22 requires mandatorycertification of at least one person who oversees food safety operations withineach establishment. Ivy Tech Community College offers an instructor-ledcertification training course to prepare individuals to take and pass themultiple-choice exam. Students will receive a ServSafe certificate, recognitionfrom the International Food Safety Council and permanent registration in the National Restaurant Association Education Foundations national registry. The ServSafecertification is valid for a five-year period.

12.0508 Institutional Food Workers A program that prepares individuals in production and service used in governmental, commercial or independently owned institutional food establishments and related food industry occupations. Includes instruction in selecting, storing, preparing, and serving food and food products; basic nutrition; sanitation, and food safety; the use and care of commercial equipment; serving techniques; and the operation of institutional food establishments.
