Program Description:
The IT Security and Administration program includes six courses that provide the knowledge and skills to help students obtain a well-rounded IT education. Upon completion of the program, the candidate will have valuable understanding and skills in basic hardware installation, troubleshooting and maintenance, networking and topology support, security configuration and analysis, as well as the configuration, securing, maintenance and troubleshooting of a computer network. This includes security measures, web authentication, and extensive TCP/IP familiarity. Other Certifications included that are not on the Credential List: Linux Essentials, Microsoft Security Compliance and Indentity Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals. MyComputerCareer will pay for your first certification exam attempt and if needed, pay for up to 2 additional attempts. MyComputerCareer simply covers these fees as we understand they are critical to the students success in landing an IT Career. These fees are not itemized on the EA or in the catalog as a cost to the student or agency. The following industrycertifications are also included in the program:Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, and Linux Essentials.

11.0901 Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications A program that focuses on the design, implementation, and management of linked systems of computers, peripherals, and associated software to maximize efficiency and productivity, and that prepares individuals to function as network specialists and managers at various levels. Includes instruction in operating systems and applications; systems design and analysis; networking theory and solutions; types of networks; network management and control; network and flow optimization; security; configuring; and troubleshooting.

Prerequisites Description:
Students must meet with an Admissions Director (AD) to be considered for acceptance into our programs. MyComputerCareer will determine acceptance into any offered program. The decision to allow a student to enroll in the program will be guided by the following standards:Enrollment StandardsThe AD will ascertain the prospective students ability to enroll in a program during the admissions process.High School Completion, GED, College Degree or equivalent is required for enrollment. Proof of attainment or a student attestation of completion must be supplied and a copy will be kept in the students file.There is a minimum age requirement of 17 for enrollment into any program at MyComputerCareer. Applicants under the age of 18 need a parent or guardians signature in addition to their own signature on the enrollment agreement.Any prospective student who has a special needs request or accommodation must speak with their Admissions Director prior to enrollment to determine if the school can accommodate the request.
Application Deadlines:
Flexible. Classes typically start every 5 weeks. Deadline is no later than one week after the start of a lab. We also provide Hybrid (1/2 on campus, 1/2 off) and Full Distance Education options for this program.
