Certified Nurse Aide program is a 107 hour program which includes didactic and practicum instruction in an approved ISDH classroom and clinical site with certified instructors which provides information on the care of residents in a skilled nursing setting, followingCMS guidelines. The graduate of the program must attend all classroom and clinical instruction, demonstrate knowledge of curriculum and the 72 skills necessary to pass the course. A test is administered at the end of the course demonstrating knowledge and the ability to demonstrate the skills/tasks necessary to become a Certified Nurse Aide. The successful graduate is listed in the Indiana State Department of Health Registry and the certification is renewable every two years with continued education in the field.
Navy Blue scrubs. Students needs to be at least 16 years old, must be able to read, write, add, subtract and read English. Must pass a state wide criminal back ground check. And, they must have no physical limitations that can prevent them from performing as a certified nursing assistant. PLEASE NOTE: The cost of the State Testing Fee, TB and Physical examination are included in Misc. cost listed below. Admission fee is part of registration process and administrative duties. Lab fees are part of the extensive review and preparation for the ISDH written and skills competency exam. Also provided for each students is a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.
