Nursing Faculty must possess a Graduate degree in nursing or higher, unencumbered RN license, minimum of two years of clinical experience as an RN.Faculty that teach general education courses must possess a masters degree in the subject area or a mastersdegree and a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in subject area.
Galens BSN Program, RN to BSN Option is designed for licensed registered nurses to complete a baccalaureate degree through a flexible online program that meets the needs of working professionals. Learners select specialty-focused electives that meet professional development needs. Learning experiences include online courses with both synchronous and asynchronous communication capabilities, virtual simulation, and activities designed to promote a community of learners. Learners will have opportunities to apply theoretical concepts in capstone and service learning experiences in healthcare and community settings. Courses are offered in an eight-week delivery method, designed with a focus on applicability of real-world concepts in todays rapidly changing healthcare environment.
51.3801 Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse A program that generally prepares individuals in the knowledge, techniques and procedures for promoting health, providing care for sick, disabled, infirmed, or other individuals or groups. Includes instruction in the administration of medication and treatments, assisting a physician during treatments and examinations, Referring patients to physicians and other health care specialists, and planning education for health maintenance.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
General Admission Requirements: must be a high school graduate or possess a General Education Development (GED) diploma; must be able to communicate effectively in English. RN to BSN Program Option Admission Requirements: an earned associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited registered nursing (RN) program or institution; a 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale from an ADN program; and must provide proof of current, active, unencumbered RN licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the United States.
Once a student has met requirements for admission, the student will be considered for acceptance in the next available term.
