Program Description:

The Home Health Aide Course is a state-required course for an entry-level position to work in a home health agency, assisted living facility, or required healthcare organization. This two-week 75-hour course is divided into two-week classroom, laboratory, and clinical/practicum hours. Upon completing this course, the student will be eligible for the State required exam. The state exam is required for placement on the Indiana registry.

Includes instruction in basic nutrition, home sanitation, infection control, first aid, taking vital signs, personal hygiene, interpersonal communication skills, supervised home management, emergency recognition and referral, geriatric care, and legal and ethical responsibilities.
